(society tend to quickly dismiss navy girlfriends. don’t get me wrong some are actually qualified to be dismissed—if you know what i mean. notice i said girlfriend? not fiancee or wife, but girlfriend. they said that they don’t worry about their sailors as much as a wife or a fiancee would do. i personally think what the society thinks about these women are a pile of shit. they support their sailors 110%, some even unconditionally. they worry just like how a wife or a fiancee would do. i myself was once a girlfriend. i’ve endured every single belittling words a wife and fiancee would say, how my so-called friends laughed at me for holding on to a military relationship they once said that’s not going to work. i proved them wrong and these women will continue to prove them wrong. my hats off to you ladies. continue to be strong, keep your head up high, you are beautiful and know that you are not alone in this struggle.)

I was a Navy Girl Friend for 3 years prior to getting married to my amazing sailor. I picked up and moved with him 3,000 miles a year into our relationship and never had a second thought about it. 3 duty stations, 6 different homes, and 6 amazing years with my love later and I still haven’t had to deal with any bitchy mil wives. I’m proud of that. =D

  Navy life can be hard enough without other people trying to tear you down. Hold your head’s high, ignore all the drama, and keep the dramariffic people out of your lives.
