I know this is unlikely, but I have heard of the magic of tumblr making unlikely things happen before.

This is my father, Peter Frost

My Dad is my hero and generally my favourite human being.

There are many reasons for this.  Here are a few of them.  He had a kind of shitty childhood, but he rose above it.  He dreamt of being a fighter pilot or an astronaut, but because of his less-than-perfect eyesight, which at the time was a deal-breaker, he missed out.  Still, he served his time in the RAF, saved up and bought a car for his mum - at the time a single parent raising her kids in a tied cottage on minimum wage.  My dad’s relationship with his own father was practically non-existent, but far from allowing it to break him down, I believe that my dad learned from his mistakes and, although nobody’s perfect, he is the one of the most caring, kind, honest, hardworking and altruistic people I have ever met.  He is always there with a goofy smile and a ridiculous bad joke to brighten anyone’s day.  If I’m feeling down, he just makes it better by being his lovely self.  I can’t even… he just absolutely makes my life worth living. 

Even if he doesn’t get any further in this competition he has entered, if he got a whole bunch of votes, especially if he didn’t know where they came from, I know it would really give him a self-esteem boost.  And he really deserves it.
